and we all wish him well with his new ventures.
Paul Luxford has been promoted to Head of Events. Paul has been
at Namco for over 2 years and, working as the Events Executive,

RSVP 2010
We were pleased to have exhibited at this year's RSVP which
was held at the Business Design Centre and saw over 10,000 visitors
over 2 days. The exhibition was another opportunity for us to
showcase what Namco has to offer and as always the champagne
was forever flowing.
There was an abundance of entertainment from rock bands to extreme
magicians and body artists to celebrity impersonators. It was
great to see so many familiar faces and we look forward to the
next show.
2009 UK Tekken Championship
The 2009 UK Tekken Championship was hosted by
Namco Station and competitors came from all around the UK to
fight for the title of 'King of Iron Fist'. Parts of the Sub
Station were dominated by PS3 and XBOX pods where individual
could practice there 'special moves' and more importantly, scope
out the competition before entering the Tekken Arena.
Unfortunately, there can only be one winner and
our congratulations goes to Mr Ryan Hart who the tournament
and was presented with a golden Heihachi trophy.
We had a very nice visit recently from Radio 1's
very own Greg James and Alex Sim-Wise who decided that they
need a bit of excitement in their day. So what better way to
have some fun and get the adrenaline running than to visit Namco
Station and have a go on the arcades and Turbo Charged Dodgems.
Sorry Greg, but I think Alex did win on the Guitar
Hero's, better luck next time mate.
3 Years at Square Meal Venues & Events Exhibition
Namco Station County Hall was once again celebrating
a successful exhibition at the 2009 Square Meal Venues &
Events show. Held again at the prestigious Old Billingsgate
EC1, this was our 3rd year running at the 2 day show and it
was exciting to see so many new faces. The events team were
on hand to answer questions and offer sweets and Champagne.
There was great interest in Namco Station and
with many visitors looking for Christmas party venues it was
a fantastic opportunity for us to promote our Christmas offers
which start at just £19.00 + VAT per person. The show
was such a success that we have rebooked for next years show,
so be sure to put the dates in you diary and we'll see you there.
BASSHUNTER becomes and Namco Fan!
With a new album out on the 28th September 2009
Basshunter, aka Jonas Erik Altberg, was at Namco Station to
film his promotional video. Filming took place in our VIP Sky
Lounge and he was able to spare the time in his busy schedule
to go on our Turbo Charged Bumper Cars and naturally the big
kid within came out to play!! Good luck with the new album Jonas .party
hard!
Atari Games Launch Party
Namco station was the perfect setting for the
launch of some awesome games from Atari and the press was out
in force to speak to the producers and gaming developers. Parts
of the venue were transformed into a small conference area and
the club lounges were equipped with Wii Pods, XBOX Kiosk and
Dance Simulators. All the attendees were given the opportunity
to test out the new games which have only recently been released
and many came back with great feedback.
